Objetivos y justificación
Los objetivos de este proyecto son los siguientes:
- Crear concienncia entre el alumnado de un fenómeno que se juzga importante : la agricultura ecológica
- Estudiar la introducción mediante la actividad humana de sustancias en los alimentos, que pongan en peligro la salud del hombre y que cause daños a los recursos biológicos y a los ecosistemas: semillas transgénicas
- Buscar soluciones a problemas de carácter científico y cultural: agricultura en altura
- Ser capaces de diseñar y construir tapiz vegetal ornamental.
- Reproducir en pequeño, la fisonomía de un ejemplar de la misma especie visto en la naturaleza: bonsai
Este proyecto se realizará en base a las siguientes actividades:

Este proyecto se realizará en base a las siguientes actividades:
Actividad 1: Semillas transgénicas; problema o solución

Interrogantes que plantea:
· ¿Cómo se fabrica un transgénico?
· ¿Superan las ventajas de los OMG (Organismos Modificados Genéticamente) a sus desventajas?
Descripción de la actividad:
En esta actividad se pretende que los alumnos comprendan cómo se fabrica un OMG y toda la problemática que deriva de su aparición, como por ejemplo el uso de patentes, la contaminación de cultivos silvestres y la legislación vigente al respecto.
Interacción con el visitante:
Maqueta interactiva de un cromosoma. El visitante podrá insertar el transgen en diferentes loci del cromosoma para ver como se realiza el OMG, así como las consecuencias del cruce de transgénicos con cepas silvestres.
Material necesario
· Bolas de poliespán.
· Maquetas de los cultivos hechas en cartón.
· Ventiladores de pilas para simular el efecto del viento en la dispersión del polen.
· Mazorcas de maíz modificadas manualmente con la ayuda de diversos materiales, para representar los efectos del cruce del maíz transgénico con el
maíz silvestre.

Actividad 2. La Agricultura Ecológica

Interrogantes que plantea:
· ¿son de mejor calidad los productos ecológicos?
· ¿es la agricultura ecológica respetuosa con el medio ambiente y con la salud de los consumidores??
Descripción de la actividad:
Con esta actividad se pretende que el alumno sea capaz de:
· Mejorar su alimentación, introduciendo alimentos ecológicos andaluces en los menús a través de dietas equilibradas.
· Prestar especial atención al método de producción ecológica valorando la calidad de los alimentos obtenidos
· Insistir en los beneficios de ejercer una alimentación ecológica que, además de cuidar de nuestra salud, es respetuosa con el medio ambiente e incide en el desarrollo sostenible del medio rural.
. Apoyar a los productores ecológicos andaluces a fin de que dispongan de una plataforma eficaz para la comercialización de sus productos.
Interacción con el visitante
· Elaboración de un puzle ( para los más peques) en el que se muestre la pirámide de alimentos
· Relacionar a través del sabor y el olor los alimentos ecológicos de los industriales
· Elaboración de una maqueta donde se muestre la transformación de un espacio natural en un espacio agrícola de prácticas ecológicas
· Creación de una plataforma para empresas andaluzas de distribución de alimentos ecológicos a través de Internet
Material necesario
· Paneles de madera para la construcción de los puzzles
· Frutas ecológicas y de una gran superficie
· Vendas para los ojos
· Base de poliespán, tierra o mantillo, vegetación
· Ordenador con conexión a internet

Actividad 3: Agricultura en altura

Interrogante que plantea:
¿Son posibles otros tipos de alternativas agrícolas?
Descripción de la actividad :
Con esta actividad se pretende desarrollar la capacidad imaginativa del alumnado, mediante el desarrollo de un proyecto de agricultura en altura que sea realista y que permita al mismo tiempo la aplicación de técnicas innovadoras. La creciente población mundial obligará a la humanidad a buscar nuevas soluciones que permitan una alimentación sostenible y sana al mismo tiempo. Como intento de aportar una solución, los alumnos diseñarán y construirán la maqueta de un rascacielos agrícola.
Interacción con el visitante:
Se realizará una maqueta del edificio de tal forma que el visitante pueda ir quitando sus distintas partes para ver los diferentes modos de producción agrícola del interior.
Material necesario:
El material necesario dependerá en gran medida del diseño que desarrollen los alumnos, pero serán básicamente:
- Papel, cartulina y cartón.
- Espuma rígida
- Materiales moldeables.
- Madera
- Vidrio
- Metales.
- Pinturas
- Objetos encontrados en la naturaleza y en la industria.
- Pequeños objetos
- Pegamentos, cinta adhesiva y papel autoadhesivo.

Actividad 4. Hortalizas: comestibles y decorativas

Interrogante que plantea: ¿se pueden cultivar hortalizas no solo con fines alimenticios sino también decorativos? y ¿se pueden utilizar como motivos decorativos en un centro escolar?
Descripción de la actividad.
Con esta actividad se pretende que el alumnado sea capaz de
La actividad consiste en conseguir un “huerto urbano” pero teniendo siempre en mente la faceta decorativa de las plantas, así como ser capaces de diseñar y construir elementos de soporte fijos y/o móviles sobre los que colocar las plantas a modo de tapiz vegetal ornamental.
Interacción con el visitante
1.- Siembra de hortalizas (en semilla o plántulas)
2.- Montaje de paneles decorativos con hortalizas aportadas por los alumnos del centro

Con esta actividad se pretende que el alumnado sea capaz de
- aprender a cultivar sus propios alimentos
- diferenciar la producción de forma natural y ecológica frente a la industrial
- apreciar la facultad decorativa de ciertas plantas hortícolas diferenciandolas por sus hojas, flores, tallos y/o frutos.
- valorar el coste real de la producción de estos alimentos.
- conocer las propiedades alimenticias de las hortalizas.

Actividad 5. El bonsái en la escuela.

Interrogante que plantea.
El trabajo con bonsáis ¿desarrolla las competencias básicas de secundaria?
Descripción de la actividad.
Dado que ninguno de los alumnos participantes en el proyecto ha tenido un contacto previo con el mundo de los bonsáis, hasta el punto, que ni siquiera tienen o han tenido ejemplar alguno en sus casas, lo preceptivo es que busquen información sobre ellos.
Esa información teórica incluye:
Interacción con el visitante.
En el mismo stand se ofrecerá la posibilidad de que los visitantes que lo deseen, elaboren con alambres, la estructura de un bonsái siguiendo las normas del estilo que ellos mismos elijan, asesorados en todo momento por los alumnos integrantes del proyecto, que en vivo, podrán relatar su experiencia a todo aquel que pregunte y muestre interés por los aspectos que le hayan llamado más la atención.

Interacción con el visitante.
En el mismo stand se ofrecerá la posibilidad de que los visitantes que lo deseen, elaboren con alambres, la estructura de un bonsái siguiendo las normas del estilo que ellos mismos elijan, asesorados en todo momento por los alumnos integrantes del proyecto, que en vivo, podrán relatar su experiencia a todo aquel que pregunte y muestre interés por los aspectos que le hayan llamado más la atención.
Material necesario.
- Plantones de vivero para trabajar sobre ellos
- Cubetas de plastico de 1 m de diámetro
- Herramientas para: podar ramas, raíces, hojas; desenredar raíces; cortar alambres; alambrar y desalambrar
- Alambres de aluminio tratado de 1, 3 y 5 mm para dar forma a las ramas y troncos.
- Pulpa de papel, cemento y arena para fabricar macetas
Consideraciones especiales (riesgos, infraestructuras, sonido, video, …).
- Es necesario disponer de agua para las plantas.
- Recipiente para recoger los restos de alambre.
- Pantalla, proyector y ordenador para la proyección de videos en los que se mostrará el desarrollo de la actividad desde sus inicios.
- Proyección del vídeo 10 minutos de forma ininterrumpida
- Creación de bonsáis de alambre de forma continua siempre que haya alumnos para el asesoramiento y entrega de material

Task 3: Agriculture in height

Description
With this task our goal is to develop students’ imagination. We present a Project of farming in height which is realistic and uses innovative techniques. The growing world population will make us look for new solutions to have a sustainable and at the same time healthy diet. Students will build a model of a farm on a skyscraper.

Task 4: Edible and Decorative Vegetables

Description
With this task our goal is to allow students to be able to:
We will grow an urban garden considering the decorative aspect of plants and we will design and build a fixed or movable basis for the plants in order to create a decorative tapestry.

Task 5: Bosai at school

Description
Since none of the participant students has previous knowledge about the bonsáis, they first look for information about them, which includes:
After this basic information, they start using the following basic techniques:
We will record most of the process to be projected in the stand and will be able to show the students’ bonsais since by mid May we will have finished with most of our tasks.
Interaction with visitors:
Visitors will be able to create the structure of a bonsai following the style chosen and using wire. They will always be tutored by our students, who will also be able to answer any questions related to any aspect of the project.

Topic: The Environment
Objectives.
The aim of this project are the following:
- Make the students aware of a relevant issue
- Analyse the risks to health and the damage on biological resources and ecosystems of the chemicals in food.
- Look for solutions to scientific and cultural problems
- Design and build a decorative vegetal tapestry.
- Make a small size reproduction of a real tree: bonsái
Tasks.
Task 1. Transgenic Seeds, problem o solution?

Questions to be answered:
- How are transgenic foods made?
- Are there more advantages than disadvantages to GMO (Genetically Modified organisms)?
Description
With this task our goal is to allow students to be able to:
- Understand how GMO are made
- Be familiar with all the conflicts that derive from them like the use of patents, the pollution of wild farming and the current laws regarding this issue.
Interaction with visitors:
Model of a chromosome. The visitor will be able to introduce a transgene in different loci of the chromosome just to see how the GMO is constructed. Visitors will also appreciate the consequences of crossing transgenic and wild stumps.

- Balls of styrofoam.
- Models of the crops made of cardboard
- Battery fans to simulate the effect of the wind when scattering pollen
- Corncobs modified by hand using different materials to show the crossing of wild and transgenic corn.

Task 2. Organic Agriculture

- Are organic products of better quality?
- Is organic farming environmentally friendly?
Description
With this task our goal is to allow students to be able to:
- Improve their diet by introducing organic foods grown in Andalusia.
- Appreciate the methods they use in organic farming and the quality of the outcome food.
- Discover the benefits of an organic diet, which not only is healthier but environmentally friendlier and allows the sustainable development of the rural sector.
- Support organic farmers so that they can have an efficient trading platform.
Interaction with visitors:
- Puzzle to show the food pyramid
- Blind tasting of traditional and organic foods to distinguish their smell and taste.
- Model showing the transformation of open spaces due to traditional farming practices.
- Creation of a platform for Andalusian companies engaged in the distribution of organic food via internet.

Description
With this task our goal is to develop students’ imagination. We present a Project of farming in height which is realistic and uses innovative techniques. - Model of the building. The visitor will have the opportunity of removing different sections of the skyscraper to analyse the diversity in the farming methods and crops.

Task 4: Edible and Decorative Vegetables

- Is it possible to grow vegetables not only to be eaten but just to decorate?
- Can vegetables be used as decorative items at our schools?
Description
With this task our goal is to allow students to be able to:
- Grow their own vegetables
- Distinguish the organic production from the industrial one
- Appreciate the decorative aspect of certain vegetables distinguishing them from their leaves, flowers, stalks or fruits.
- Value the real cost of the vegetable production.
- Get to know the nourishing characteristics of vegetables.
We will grow an urban garden considering the decorative aspect of plants and we will design and build a fixed or movable basis for the plants in order to create a decorative tapestry.
Interaction with visitors:
- Growing of vegetables (with seeds)
- Creation of decorative boards with the students’ plants

Task 5: Bosai at school

Question to be answered:
- Does working with bonsáis develop key competences in Secondary school?
Description
Since none of the participant students has previous knowledge about the bonsáis, they first look for information about them, which includes:
- Origin of bonsais
- Basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of plants
- Objectives when growing bonsais
- Basic vocabulary
- How to get a bonsai
- Placement of the bonsai
- The pot
- The soil
- Basic tools
After this basic information, they start using the following basic techniques:
- Transplanting
- Watering
- Fertilizing
- Styles
- Wiring
- Pricking
- Pruning
We will record most of the process to be projected in the stand and will be able to show the students’ bonsais since by mid May we will have finished with most of our tasks.
Interaction with visitors:
